The Student Hotel
Wat schreef ik voor The Student Hotel?
Een half jaar lang schreef ik alle (Engelse) copy voor de nieuwe app van The Student Hotel: TSHLife. Ze wilden hun doelgroep directer betrekken bij het creëren van content, tips delen en een engaged online community neerzetten. Ik deed research naar relevante onderwerpen, schreef artikelen, tips en korte copy en deed onderzoek naar third party content. Ook hield ik contact met de 11 Connectors op alle Europese locaties en herschreef ik hun maandelijkse content. Daarnaast hield ik de community bij in de app en brainstormde ik over en creëerde ik nieuwe contentstrategieën voor de appcontent. Met het marketingteam overlegde ik over de optimalisatie van het appbezoek.
Een bewogen half jaar, waarin ik prettig heb samengewerkt met het internationale team, en veel op onderzoek ben geweest. Wat beweegt een (Gen-Z en openminded) student nu écht in onze ultrasnelle maatschappij?

Man Met Bril Koffie / Het Hoofdkantoor
Man Met Bril Koffie is both café and roaster – the men behind the brand roast fresh beans in the shop while you sniff. They have been named best cup of coffee in the Netherlands by numeral media and are always happy to help you with anything coffee related. This cosy place is tucked away in de Hofbogen in Noord and does breakfast, lunch and cakes too.
Cinta Coffee (r.i.p.)
Cinta Cofee is a relatively new café on the first floor of Inconcept Store. They mix delicious coffee with an Indonesian twist and serve the dishes to go with it – think noodles. The atmosphere in this small café is homely and the owners are always in for a chat! Here, you even get a student discount %
Heilige Boontjes
Another one with a unique concept is Heilige Boontjes, or Holy Beans. This large coffee spot is situated in the centre of Rotterdam and is always full of people working and chatting. The staff of Heilige Boontjes are probably the friendliest baristas out there. They’re also ex-convicts. Buying coffee at HB, you sponsor the re-integration of former offenders and help them get a second chance.
Harvest Coffee Brewers
The freshest bean of the bunch, Harvest Coffee Brewers is a specialty coffee bar in the centre of Rotterdam. Baristas and couple Loes & Zjevaun studied the art of coffee in Melbourne for 2.5 years before they opened Harvest. Zjevaun is a regular in the world of coffee – he won the Dutch Barista championships in 2012. A new hotspot!
Coppi koffie & fietsen
When you think coffee, you think bikes – it’s the hipster ritual. Coppi combines the two into a shop that’s breakfast bar, lunchroom, café and cycling workshop in one! If that wasn’t enough, they organize events and activities throughout the year. Stop by on your racing bike and check it out!”
